Vaikuntha Chaturdashi Significance
The Vaikuntha Chaturdashi 2026 is observed on the Chaturdashi of the month of Kartik and is revered by both followers of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu as a highly significant festival. Both God Vishnu and God Shiva are worshipped by devotees, who also seek their blessings. Both deities' puja ceremonies are carried out at various times during the day, though. Rishikesh, Varanasi, Gaya, and other cities throughout the nation, in particular, celebrate this event with immense delight and merriment. The ancient astrologers advised followers to fast on this day to have all of their desires come true.

The devotees' ability to achieve Moksha, or salvation, is also aided by this fast. The Nishita Muhurta, which normally happens at midnight on the day of Vaikuntha Chaturdashi, is the time when one should worship Lord Vishnu. On the other hand, those who worship Lord Shiva should do so at the Arunodaya Muhurta, which is the hour right before sunrise. The dawn bath at Varanasi's Manikarnika Ghat during the Arunodaya Muhurta is another significant rite for Shiva worshippers. The Manikarnika Snan is the name of this rite. When it comes to the Muhurta on Vaikuntha Chaturdashi, the devotees must exercise extreme caution. For the fulfillment of all aspirations, the rituals must be performed at the appropriate times.
Vaikuntha Chaturdashi Vrat Katha
A Brahmin named Dhaneshwar resided there; he had been a sinner all of his life. Then, without knowing its importance, he took a bath in the sacred Godavari river on the day of Vaikuntha Chaturdashi. Additionally, he met a number of good devotees along the river's banks. Days after he passed away, Lord Vishnu intervened to stop Lord Yama's messengers from taking Dhaneshwar to Naraka (hell) and instead gave him a position in Vaikuntha. He recounted that on the day of Vaikuntha Chaturdashi when Dhaneshwar bathed in the sacred waters of the Godavari and unintentionally touched followers, his sins were wiped away. Dhaneshwar therefore benefited from performing a Vrat on the aforementioned day without being aware of it.
